Phenoxyethanol Used as Perfume Fixative

Propylene Phenoxetol is used as a perfume fixative; an insect repellent; an antiseptic; a solvent for cellulose acetate, dyes, inks, and resins; a preservative for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and lubricants; an anesthetic in fish aquaculture; and in organic synthesis.

Phenoxyethanol is an alternative to formaldehyde-releasing preservatives. In Japan and the European Union, its concentration in cosmetics is restricted to 1%.

Phenoxyethanol is produced by the hydroxyethylation of phenol (Williamson synthesis), for example, in the presence of alkali-metal hydroxides or alkali-metal borohydrides.

Phenoxyethanol is effective against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, and the yeast Candida albicans.

Recommended use: may be used up to 1% . Typical range from 0.4-0.6% when used with other preservatives. Dosage levels should be depended on testing due to the microbial susceptibility of various formulations.

Packing: 200kg plastic drum；IBC /tote, iso tank. It is nonhazardous and should be stored in cool and ventilated place. 

Storage: should be stored at temperature below 30℃.Containers should not be exposed to direct sunlight. It has a freezing point of 12℃ and will freeze stored below this temperature. This is common occurrence and will not impact the quality of the material.
